About

A firm with archivists on the payroll and developers in-house.

Paloryn is the division dedicated to the digitisation and digital preservation of documentary heritage. What distinguishes the structure is that both competences this trade requires — the archival and the technical — are held internally rather than subcontracted to parties who answer to one another.

Organisation

Four operating units, coordinated on each contract by a single manager answerable to the client institution.

  1. 01

    Archival practice

Survey, arrangement, description, finding aids, disposal proposals and dealings with the supervisory authorities. Salaried staff, not engaged contract by contract.

  2. 02

Digital capture on production lines and planetary stations, colour management, quality control and chain of custody. Includes the teams working on clients’ premises.

  3. 03

  4. 04

    Preservation and compliance

Formation of submission packages, oversight of data protection obligations, maintenance of the certified management systems.

The management systems are certified by an accredited body. Certificate references and the certifying body are provided on request and attached to tender documentation.
